The Pope thinks we should not talk so much about homosexuality and abortion as though not talking about it will somehow make things better as pertains to the relative divide between Christians and the world.
Granted, he is speaking for the Catholic Church, but the issue is the same for all Christians. And he is right: If we will stop talking about it they will like us more. But ultimately, we will come to the point where we will either have to be true to our convictions or simply put them aside for the sake of being liked. The idea that somehow if we just be nice the culture will eventually simply self-convert or that they will come to Jesus without ever having to hear the truth of the Bible is simply a fallacy.
